Ducati Desmosedici R/C Bike
Lean into it
Sorry, this product is not available.
Racing cars are cool but racing bikes are sub zero, especially when they're MotoGP bikes. That's why we've been on the lookout for an R/C vehicle that captures the raw excitement of top class bike racing. And by the power of Valentino, we've found one!
The Ducati Desmosedici R/C Bike is based on Ducati's 2007 MotoGP World Championship winning bike. But unlike other R/C bikes this 1/12 scale mean machine features a leg-popping, head-turning, seat-shifting rider that actually leans into corners to balance the machine. And you control him! Talk about a lean machine. It's just like the real thing - no stabilisers required. The makers call it auto-stable technology. We call it flippin' amazing.
As well as its revolutionary weight-shifting, knee-on-the-tarmac rider, the bike boasts spring suspension, digital proportional steering and speed control, a throttle-rate selector and steering-trim-system. You can even set the skill level, so novices shouldn't suffer too many opening-sequence-of-Grandstand-style wipe-outs.
Rechargeable via a 4.8V Ni-MH battery, the Desmosedici (slips off the tongue, doesn't it?) is available in two frequencies so you can enjoy wheel-to-wheel action with a pal. Believe us, conducting races with these babies is enough to make you soil your leathers, because full-on MotoGP makes Formula One seem as exciting as a service wash down the launderette.
Unless you're an Italian petrolhead you're probably wondering what 'desmosedici' means. Apparently the word derives from Ducati's engine valve technology - desmodromic valves are closed via a cam and leverage system, rather than more conventional springs. But techy stuff like that will be the last thing on your mind as you (and your rider) are struggling to balance your lightning fast R/C machine around a tight hairpin. This thing has to be seen to be disbelieved. So grab hold of your helmet and get ordering. Vroom vroom!
Weight-shifting turns!

This isn't for Rossi wannabes since it's modeled after Casey Stoner. The number plate on the front (#27) also gives this away. You may want to change the headline on that one a bit. Rossi not only rides a Yamaha, but also is number 46.Canis Lupis, Sheffield - 15th December 2009
