USB VHS Recorder

Plugs into your PC!

We all know VHS tapes were useless. Wonky tracking, limited lifespan, noisy spools, below par qualitywe could go on. So we will. Bulky, clunky, fragile, ridiculously slow to rewind - the list is truly endless. But for all its faults VHS was the leading video format for almost thirty years. And thats why you've got stacks of tapes languishing in the garage and piled up in the closet. And that's why you need the amazing USB VCR Converter.

USB VCR Converter

Plug USB cable into USB VCR Converter and then into your PC

Insert a VHS tape

Open EZ VHS Converter software and press the Record button!

This idiot-proof video player allows you to convert long-forgotten VHS recordings into pristine digital files. So you can cringe at your mullet in those homemade vids, laugh at The Love Boat, marvel at Alex Trebeks mustache (course you taped Jeopardy) and cringe as Mr T jibba-jabbas on in those ancient Burger King ads without dusting off your soon to be obsolete VCR.

USB VHS Recorder

Converts straight from a 8mm video camera to your PC. You can even connect it to your TV and use as a VCR!

Simply pop in a tape, press play and leave the rest to this USB-friendly machine. It doesn't matter if you want to watch reinvigorated recordings on your computer, iPod, PSP or DVD. The included conversion software caters for stacks of formats. Just think, as smug friends watch hot new downloads on the move you could be watching William Shatner and his wig cleaning up the streets in TJ Hooker. Awesome!

USB VHS Recorder

Get converting now!

As well as its incredible ability to amalgamate declining technology with cutting edge jiggery-pokery, the USB VCR Converter can be used as a regular VCR. Just plug it into your TV and you're away. And when visitors snigger at that front-loading flap, you can fire up your iPod and show them a converted recording of Dean Cain getting bashed about on American Gladiators. Touché.

Once you've successfully archived your VHS library the only thing left to do is dump those cumbersome tapes. Just make sure you stomp on 'em before throwing them in the trash. After all, you wouldn't want anyone finding out you'd gone over the first episode of Hardcastle and McCormick with a Britney/Justin routine from the Mickey Mouse Club, would you?

visitor avatar Will this work with commercial VHS tapes (that I already own) to convert to more stable DVD's?
Jujubee, Michigan - Nov '08
Firebox says: It will indeed, enjoy those classics!

visitor avatar This product seems great, thanks for including the specifications. But can this device record at a faster speed than play back? meaning if a VHS is 90 mins long, can I convert it to a "file" in a far shorter space of time ? Back in the day :) you could record audio cassette tapes at a faster speed than playback. Im looking for a device that does that with VHS, I assume that professional VHS conversion is done using similar equipment. Any suggestions? thanks (great site btw).
Mrwho, Uk - Oct '09
Firebox says: Yes, it's got a Long Play (LP) setting too, just like the good old days.

visitor avatar This may of already been asked so sorry if it has, but I was wondering if it converts pre-recorded video's or is it just video's I have recorded myself ? I bought a few collections many moons ago and would like to convert them onto dvd, is this possible ??
Melanie, Cambridge - Oct '09
Firebox says: Yep, it will convert them also.

visitor avatar Is this compatible with Vista 64 bit? WIth some other products the USB doesn't work.
Mark Simpson, Surrey - Aug '09
Firebox says: Yes it does.

visitor avatar Hi. Does it support the 64-bit versions of Windows?
Tom, Southampton - Aug '09
Firebox says: Yes it does

visitor avatar It says that it can also be used for regular VHS playback. Did you mean playback via a television or via my computer (which is what I prefer)? Thank you.
John, EU - Jul '09
Firebox says: Via your television

visitor avatar At he moment I can only convert one hour of vcr to my computer, would I be able to convert, say a full two hour+ to my computer from this vcr.
Jmro, MERSEYSIDE - Jul '09
Firebox says: Yep.

visitor avatar It is cooooooooooool.
Hamzeh Kourbeh, Jeddah - Jun '09
visitor avatar Can both PAL and NTSC videos be converted?
Andrew, Edinburgh - May '09
Firebox says: Its' PAL only unfortunately!

visitor avatar Hi; am just having a nightmare trying to copy from VHS to DVD - it keeps stopping recording whenever the video playback is not perfect quality, (ie. Lines of 'snow' but still perfect sound) so throughout the DVD copy, bits are missed out, completely defeating the object! how does this USB device deal with inconsistencies etc?!
Lara, Thames Ditton In Surrey - Mar '09
Firebox says: The USB VHS Converter should record to DVD exactly what it sees on the VHS Tape - so unfortunately it wouldn't be able to clean up the video quality for you but it wouldn't skip over that section entirely, you'd still have the sound.
