Wireless music, great for summer parties!
Rock around the dock? No thanks. The gorgeous Evolve Wireless Music System lets you listen to your tunes anywhere in the house. And that's not because it goes all the way to eleven, it's because its two independent speakers are completely wireless, so you can put them in any room you want. How does that sound! (Pretty awesome but it's a rhetorical question).
Made by our good friends at Griffin, the Evolve is causing audiophiles here at Firebox to weep with delight - quite a feat as it can't fly, fire lasers or fit in your pocket (unless you're a clown or MC Hammer).
What it can do, however, is blast out the music trapped in your iPod via wireless speakers that can be positioned anywhere you like (within a 150ft range). Put one in the kitchen, one in the back yard, or both of 'em in the bedroom. Talk about incredible separation.
Each stylish speaker cube contains a rechargeable battery pack, delivering up to 10 hours of music between charges. And get this: you don't need to fiddle with plugs, sockets or wires - simply sit the speakers on the sleek base unit and you're ready to rock...or roll, or whatever it is you kids do these days. The power is just beamed in there. Apparently it's something do with conduction. Or is it induction? We forget. Anyway, it's as easy as putting a cup on a saucer. Each speaker also has its own on/off switch and auto sleep mode to conserve power. It's like being in the future, only you won't have to wear a skin-tight jumpsuit.
Talking of wearing stuff, try this on for size: the Evolve's speakers are ambidextrous. Well, kind of. They can't spool spaghetti with both hands but they're automatically assigned a right or left stereo channel whenever they're plopped on the base unit. This means you don't need to remember which one goes where. You can even add additional speakers for sound in every room. It's like piped music without the pipes.
In all this excitement we almost forgot to mention that the Evolve delivers incredibly rich, detailed sonics. Which, in basic terms, means it sounds superb. But it's not all about audio because this multifunctional masterpiece has an A/V socket so you can hook it up to your TV and watch iPod videos on the big screen. And because the speakers are wireless you can put them anywhere in the room for great stereo sound. Throw in a powerful remote capable of controlling the action from 150ft, through walls and windows, and you're looking at a wireless music system that redefines the genre. So c'mon, it's time to Evolve.
