Grow It

Even if you've never planted a seed in your entire life we guarantee you'll become fascinated by your little living thingy as it flourishes and slowly spouts skywards. Each set comes with plenty of seeds, so if at first you don't succeed you can try, try again. And if that doesn't work you can read 'em a bit of poetry or hum a few Leonard Cohen numbers. Or something like that.

Grow It

A Venus Fly Trap plant

Simply pop one of the compost discs in the pot (both made from natural coconut husk), sprinkle on the seeds and Titchmarsh's your uncle. The special discs expand when watered so you won't even have to get your hands mucky. And all you tree-huggers will be pleased to know that the pots are biodegradable, so they can be planted into bigger pots without creating waste.

Grow It

Of course we don't expect you to make a complete Monty Don out of yourself overnight. That's why each set contains simple and clear instructions plus a few intriguing nuggets about the plants themselves.

I just received the Carnivours Kit and I am a bit disapointed by the quality of the Venus Fly Trap seeds. There was barely any usable seeds in the package, most of them were broken.
Xavier, France - 26th April 2012
Firebox says: Hello Xavier, sorry to hear that, please drop us an email to info@firebox.com with your order details so we can resolve this for you.
I bought this for the other half for Christmas, but sadly the fly traps did not grow. It seems very difficult to grow the fly traps, so wouldn't recommend buying that particular one.
Liam, Leeds - 25th April 2012
Firebox says: Hey Liam, yes unfortunately the Venus fly traps are the more difficult ones to grow, they require the right amount of heat and humidity otherwise they will not grow. However, drop us an email with your order details and we will look into what we can do for you on this occasion.
I have given up on my grow it kit. It didn't work. I would not recommend buying this.
Andrew Herd, Armadale - 26th June 2011
All you have to do is follow the three steps and you will have your own home grown plants.
Adil Hameed, Birmingham - 16th May 2011
I am just being curious again. I wanted to ask if you have tested this product yourself???
Andrew Herd, Armadale - 21st February 2011
Firebox says: Yes, the Herb Garden is my favourite!
I have another question. My carnivorous grow it kit is about to arrive and I have just heard that these plants have to be grown in a heated plant warmer. The problem is that I cant afford one and I have no space for one. I just need confirmation that these plants will grow by using the equipment that you send out.
Andrew Herd, Armadale - 21st February 2011
Firebox says: The kits contain everything you need to get growing Andrew.
