X-Twin Thunderjet
We've all fantasised about flying a blink-and-you'll-miss-it Blackbird-style reconnaissance aircraft. But unless you're a highly-trained strategic ops pilot (and if you are, stop reading this and start saving the world) that's not going to happen. So why not console yourself with the frankly frightening X-Twin Thunderjet.

X-Twin Thunderjet

Ultimate ducted fan engine

This ominous R/C flying machine looks meaner than a cybernetic vulture hearse (whatever that is) and it boasts twin duct-fan engines for serious kick-in-the-tailfin power. You can even vary its speed as it stalks the sky searching for enemy encampments. Or naughty duckie wucks and squirrels. Whatever. Once you get to grips with the controls you'll be soaring through thin air and pulling off mind-blowing twists and turns.

X-Twin Thunderjet

Full function digital proportional radio control

Like its real life USAF counterpart, the sinister Thunderjet looks almost unreal. In fact it reminds us of Firefox, that lethally sophisticated jet from the dodgy Clint Eastwood film of the same name. Unlike Firefox, however, the X-Twin can't be controlled via thought impulses; you control the action with a twin-toggle, digital proportional transmitter that doubles up as a charging unit for its built-in lithium polymer battery. (20-30 minutes should give flight times of around 5 minutes).

Three colours available...
X-Twin Thunderjet

L-R: Red (Channel A), Yellow (Channel B) and Blue (Channel C)

Obviously a plane this powerful is unsuitable for indoor use, so we recommend you conduct your hush-hush missions in the park. You needn't worry about crashing your Thunderjet as it's made from light but extremely durable polyfoam. Just watch out for enemy Chihuahuas.

X-Twin Thunderjet

Quite a handful

This really is one highly impressive aircraft and it's guaranteed to tweak your interest in high-speed stealth operations. In fact we've taken to flying our Thunderjet dressed in a pressurized flight suit, helmet and oxygen mask. Okay, an old boiler suit and a colander. Enough already - buckle up and get ordering!

visitor avatar Great fun, but watch that wind! Came super quick from Firebox and had a play with it at the weekend. There was a little bit too much wind, so it climbed into the wind well, but then I turned it and off it went. Was terrified it was going to disappear into the sunset. It didn't and came down and nosedived from a good height without any damage. Had more practice later (after the wind had died down) and it is great fun. Although I did have to fetch it out of a tree twice. Very robust and easy to fly in very calm conditions with a bit of space. Highly recommended entry to planes.
