Mario Kart Go!

Mario

Most plumbers aren't renowned for their reliability. Then again most tap-twiddlers don't race around the Mushroom Kingdom dodging spiny shells, bullet bills and chain chomps on a daily basis. And that's what makes Mario and his pals so incredibly entertaining. Sadly all those racing shenanigans are confined to the world inside your TV. At least they were, because Mario fans can now race for real with Carrera Mario Kart Go.

Wario and Mario

Mario Kart Go!

Wario

This high quality Carrera slot-racing system is fun for racing geeks of all ages as it brings the smash hit Nintendo game to life in a way that pixels and bleeps simply can't compete with. Featuring top quality 1:43 scale versions of Mario's colourful B Dasher and Wario's Brute, Carrera Mario Kart Go is fully licensed by Nintendo so you know you're racing around in the same crazy vehicles featured in the ludicrously addictive games.

Track parts to be assembled

With over 20ft of looping, swooping, curving, swerving race track, this is no walk in the park. There's even a chicane and a gravity-defying banked section that will have you holding your breath every time you whizz round. Talking of whizzing around, racers control their cars using handheld trigger style speed guns. Mario minus a joystick? Whatever next!

Control

If you've been unimpressed by videogame spin-offs in the past, prepare to be blown away - this isn't some cheap cash-in on the illustrious Mario marque, it's a well built game that's just as thrilling as its pixellated partner in silliness. We guarantee everyone who sees it in action will want a quick spin. You could even buy some garish overalls and adopt an Italian accent. Bellissimo!

Okay, so this isn't the most realistic slot-racing game in town, but who wants to race around in real cars with dull drivers when you can put the pedal to the plastic in a ridiculous looking cartoon contraption with a moustachioed plumber behind the wheel? Quick, call the plumbers!

visitor avatar Received this as a birthday present from my ladyfriend. I have to say, this is one of the best presents I've ever been given! First of all, anyone expecting solely a "novelty product" is in for a surprise! Don't let the cartoonish presentation fool you; this product has a build quality second to none making the "putting-it-together" part an absolute joy. I was surprised (again) at how much skill was involved in controlling the karts. Don't think you can get away with just pressing the go button; tactical speeding up and breaking is the key here! Kids will love this, but there's a subtle level of depth hidden within this "toy" that will keep adults entertained too.

visitor avatar I bought this for my boyfriend's birthday - he was in awe and lost for words when he opened it. He reckons it's the best gift he has ever got. The only negative thing is he has not been doing the house work cos he's playing on it but I'm so chuffed he loves it!
