USB Guitar Link

Compact design!

Let's face it, the electric guitar is by far the coolest weapon in the rock 'n' roll armoury. The trouble is you need a whole host of amps and stomp boxes to make it sound any good. And that's no problem when you're touring the globe with an army of roadies. However, it's a bit of a pain in the axe when you just want to play and record at home. That's why the clever people at Behringer have created the amazing USB Guitar Link.

USB Guitar Link

This ingenious bit of quality kit will transform your PC or Mac into a sophisticated amp, effects deck and 16-track recording system - no roadies, tech-heads or additional hardware required. Simply plug in your guitar, load the software and you're ready to rock...or pop, or jazz, or disco, or whatever else floats your boat.

USB Guitar Link

In a nutshell the idiot-proof USB Guitar Link acts as an interface between your trusty plank and your computer, giving you the best of both worlds. You can jam and record your plucking genius using the included Audacity software and Kristal 16-track production program. The nifty software can even slow down the music files on your computer for easy learning/practice. It's like having an entire studio squeezed in your house.

Bundled software includes:

USB Guitar Link

Guitar Combo 1

Guitar Combo 2

Guitar Combo 3

Best of all you can recreate some of the greatest guitar sounds without buying hundreds of amps and effects decks because the software features various virtual combos that sound just like the real deal - from British pop to crunchy blues and meaty metal. Whether you're blasting out your licks via speakers or listening in via headphones, the USB Guitar Link is a truly inspiring practice tool.

If any of you purists out there are reading this and twiddling your machine heads in disdain, all we can say is enjoy fiddling with your pre-amp for umpteen hours, tripping over your pedal boards and endlessly tweaking your cumbersome mixing desk. KERRANG!!

visitor avatar Just wondered does this work with an electro-acoustic guitar? Sorry if thats an obvious question!
Rachel, Isle Of Wight - 18th October 2009
Firebox says: Yes it does
visitor avatar Has this product been updated so that it is compatible with Vista?
Nick, Hampshire - 5th October 2009
Firebox says: No it hasn't, sorry!
visitor avatar I have a question regaurding this and a midi recorder. Many people have noted that this doesnt have a pedal. So if you use this with a program that has midi controller capabilities could you use a midi controller to quickly engage and disengage different effects? I think this may be useful to know for other people too. Thank you.
Chris, Kent, England - 27th September 2009
Firebox says: You could give it a go but we haven't tried it ourselves I'm afraid!
visitor avatar As far as Windows is concerned, does this only work with XP? Would it work with either Windows 98 or Windows 7?
Will, Norfolk - 20th August 2009
Firebox says: Only XP
visitor avatar Can I use this with my own effect board and leave my guitar plugged into my effect board and then plug that into the Guitar Link instead of plugging my guitar directly into it?
Andrew Mason, Newcastle - 3rd August 2009
Firebox says: We haven't tested it that way but you may be able to make it work if you can plug your effects board in via jack.
visitor avatar Not a review, just a question. Does the software have the facility to create some virtual drums to go with what you have recorded?
Axel, Bradford, UK - 14th July 2009
Firebox says: No, sorry.
visitor avatar When useing this, with the sound, reading up you can use computer speakers, if that is correct, so does that mean I can plug any set of eayar phones or headphones into the computer itself and have the sound running through that ?
Dan, Cheshire - 9th July 2009
Firebox says: Yep!
visitor avatar Does it work like an fx pedal? So for instance, I want a distortion on my guitar, would the software included have this sort of stuff?
Mike, England - 30th June 2009
Firebox says: Yep! Although it doesn't come with a pedal, so you would have to programme any effects in.
visitor avatar Looks fantastic... Can I record my guitar with this? So that I have mp3's stored on my computer of my songs?
Nicola, Manchester - 7th May 2009
Firebox says: Yes this records your music!
visitor avatar Hi, does the guitar link work on windows vista and if not why?
Joe, Stockport - 7th March 2009
Firebox says: Sorry Joe, it is not currently Vista compatible as the product was introduced before Vista came out.
