The difference is, everyone's favourite Dark Lord doesn't turn into an 80's truck or a fancy cement mixer; he turns into a walloping-great Death Star! And as any Star Wars fan will tell you, the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the ability to turn yourself into a planet-sized battle station.


According to the manufacturers this villainous hybrid uses secret morphing technology to change from mech mode to Death Star mode, but as far as we can tell a few clicks will suffice.

Featuring a lightsaber and blaster that activate various lights and weapon sounds, 'Darth Transformer' makes Optimus Prime look like a right wimp. In Death Star mode this technological terror can even launch projectiles. Indeed it is powerful, as the Emperor has foreseen. And let's face it, until recently, the prospect of an Imperial Transformer hitting the market was about as likely as Led Zeppelin reforming or Emile Heskey getting an England recall.

We digress. The point is the Star Wars Transformer Deluxe Death Star is one of the coolest playthings ever created. It even comes with a Darth Vader pilot mini figure, three TIE Fighter mini vehicles and three Stormtrooper mini figures - more than enough to crush the Rebel Alliance and an entire army of Decepticons combined.
