It takes genuine talent to outshine an acting juggernaut like David Hasselhoff. But, unbelievable though it may seem, the Hoff was once upstaged by a car. And it wasn't just any old car, it was KITT, or to give its full title, the Knight Industries Two Thousand.
This sleek, customized Pontiac Trans-Am was impervious to attack, could cruise at 300mph and was loaded with hi-tech armaments. It could even talk, albeit in an incredibly camp, condescending voice. And now, thanks to your hairy-chested friends at the Firebox Foundation, you can own a fully-functioning, R/C version of one of crummy TV's greatest vehicles.
The Knight Rider R/C Car doesn't have a molecular bonded shell, and it can't leap through the air (unless you throw it). It does, however, travel forwards, backwards, left and right, and boasts a 'turbo-boost' function. It also emits that familiar whooshing sound and features a working red sensor on the hood. Best of all, this tribute to an 80s legend talks when you hit a button on the transmitter: 'I am KITT, whom you may regard as the voice of the Knight 2000.'
As soon as you get behind the wheel (well fool around with the transmitter) of this iconic vehicle the Knight Rider memories will come flooding back: Michael's unfeasibly tight jeans, Devon's plummy voice, April's incredible set of *ahem* wrenches and that pulsating theme music. In fact, this beautifully built R/C car is so evocative you might be tempted to buy an ill-fitting leather jacket, get a perm and cruise the highways fighting crime. Or maybe not.
With whispers of a new series of Knight Rider in the pipeline, there's never been a better time to make a total Hasselhoff out of yourself. Whether you're a fan of the show or you just love everything to do with the Hoff (and who doesn't?), buying a Knight Rider R/C Car is your civic duty. After all, how else will you champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless and the powerless in a world of criminals who operate above the law? Exactly!

This is an awesome car, it's easy to drive and fast. It was shipped fast too. I bought my brother a remote control General Lee, and I can't wait to race it! Thanks Firebox.Jessie Spears, Natrona Heights, Pa - Mar '08
Got this cool car for my boyfriend for Christmas, it was the pressie he loved the most! Scared the cats a bit though!Nicola Pritchard, Liverpool - Dec '07
Was very excited to order this because had a previous one as a kid (complete with wristwatch same as Michael Knight's but played the theme tune as alarm instead of talking to KITT)
The car is excellent apart from the swoosh type sound effect which plays constantly while the car's not being driven. Can be turned off though - useful feature. Come on Firebox - bring back the wristwatch too!!David, Hove - Nov '07
Had to buy one, so I did (on pre-order)! KITT LIVES! Received it with a minor scuff on the top, and tried to live with it. Michael Knight wouldn't, so I couldn't either. Firebox very easily and painlessly exchanged for a new shiny KITT (and even gave me more sweets), and I am one happy Knight Rider. Girlfriend will not be happy tonight as the flat will be full of makeshift ramps and cardboard boxes to crash through. THANK YOU FIREBOX!!!!!Jonathan Low, Liverpool - Sep '09
Firebox says: You're welcome Jonathan. Have fun!
Yeehaw suckas! I got this as my 32nd b'day pressie from my cousin. It is seriously cool - but twice the fun when you put some sellotape around the rear wheels, so it skids about enabling the Hoffster to do doughnuts and 180degree skids! Awesome! (Ps. I got him the A-team van which is equally as cool!).Jaz, Surrey - Feb '09
Like the car.Rich Lioyd, Portsmoth - Jan '09
When I saw it I had to buy it. It makes me feel like a kid again, I'm 32.
It is easy to drive and well made, I am now going to build some cardboard ramps to film it jumping.Stephen Youngson, Longtown - Mar '08
I just got it today! So happy! Need A new battery for the transmitter though but I cannot wait to use it! It'll be so much fun to use! I got the General lee and the A-team car too which is going be one heck of a race!! Can't wait see it!!!MikeL, Usa Pennsylvania - Mar '09

I was excited about this car. At first it didn't live up to other reviews I read. But when I put Duracel Batteries in it, I was blown away. Note when batteries wear down, steering gets a little weird. But it's a Great car.Michael, Baltimore - Jan '09
Firebox says: Thanks for the advise Michael!
