Brilliant 5 stars from me. I brought one set and my friend wont leave! Hard to hit at 75 metres though. I recommend the scope zooms very well!William, 26 Leys Road - Sep '09
These guns are so much fun. Me and my friend play with them like its 'Call of duty'. At the start you choose the type of gun. For example if you want a shot gun you take off the scope, fold up the leg switch to single fire and beginner mode. Grab a sonic grenade and 'Laser Challenge Chest Plates' which come with a small gun!, It's class.Zackary, Cregavon - Jun '08
I got these as an early Christmas present, and I have to say they're brilliant! I haven't tested them outside yet, but I've played in my flat a few times and it's a really good laugh. I'm hoping the range works out to be better than the videos I've seen so far. I bought a pair of shocking lasers and they only went 5 metres, so they were kind of limiting. The 75m range is what sold me on this so I'm hoping it will deliver what it says it will do.
I love the customisation element. Whilst adding a scope or extended barrel looks cool, it's superficial and makes no difference to the way the gun fires. However, it's nice to have the option of a rifle-style weapon as well as a pistol.
The guns feel sturdy, and - when attached - pieces clunk together solidly.
They have good battery life and may need changing after a lengthy game of about two hours.
The precision is pretty well balanced too. The red dot aiming system really adds something to the whole home laser tag experience. When set to pro, you have to hit your opponent's gun or you will not gain a hit. With it set to beginner, shots missed by 60 cm or more will occasionally register, thus improving a newcomers odds of holding his own in his first laser tag battle.
The sounds are kind of cheap, but by no means unappealing. Simple bleeps mostly, but they're loud enough to let you know when you've hit your opponent.
The radar system is a clever thing really, and beeps to warn of either close proximity to an opponent or whether you are in an opponent's sights. In close-quarters games (like in a flat, for example) this can become a little irritating.
I will write an updated review once I've tested them outside.
Cheers for now.Adam, Gloucester, UK - Dec '08
Firebox says: Thank you for this Adam!
Love these! I am going to buy one soon, I had some other guns like this and they work together, so I have loads of laser functional equipment to play against my mates in the woods.Michael Durance, Morpeth,Northumberland - Mar '08
I got laser challenge pro for xmas and it's great fun! they have 75 metre range (i tried it believe me) and are excellent for the price!!!Chris Spear, 2 Steel Mills Keynsham Bristol - Jan '08
Brilliant product! Best used outdoors, especially at night, as the laser pointer shows up really well on distant objects in the dark. (Looking forward to a few games in heavy fog!) Lots of fun, you feel 10 years old again as soon as you get the gun in your hands! The only bad thing I can think of is that the scope isn't great and takes a bit of getting used to. But apart from that, well worth every penny!Chris, London - Jan '08
I love these guns, they work perfectly! Only the scope isnt realy great. The "4X Zoom" is: the strange stuff that doenst help you at all and it makes stuff smaller instead of closer.
Anyway beside of the scope its a great gun!
(sorry if my english is bad, like you can see im from holland!).Daniël Cornelisse, NL, Groningen - Feb '09
Great buy! Got this for Christmas and I loved it! Lasers are very accurate and the scopes are good as well. Best to play in the dark because you can see the lasers better. THANKS FIREBOX!Charlie Sadler, age 9, Sheffield - Jan '09
FANTASTIC! - my son and husband loved these. Although, the highlight had to be discovering that pressing a button on our TV remote would register a hit. The boys could not understand why Mummy had got so good!!Zoe, Sussex - Dec '08
