Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock

Hit that snooze!

There are plenty of ways to wake up heavy sleepers. Unfortunately Motorhead are unavailable for bedroom gigs, kettle drums are seriously expensive and howitzers make rather awkward bedfellows. Step forward the ear-quaking, mattress-shaking Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock.

Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock

Super Shaker Bed Vibrator

This staggeringly loud waker-upper features an alarm that lets rip at a bone-shuddering 113 decibels. That's louder than a chainsaw or a helicopter. Eek! But wait, there's more: a separate vibrating attachment goes under your mattress to help judder you out of boboland. So if the alarm doesn't wake you up, the 12V shaker-upper will. WE SAID IF THE ALARM…oh never mind. The point is this super-shaker-bed-vibrator is one seriously seismic alarm clock.

Power it with a battery - so you'll wake even if there's a power cut!

With its stealthy, vaguely military appearance the Richter-registering Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock will add a touch of utilitarian chic to any bedside table. What's more it boasts pulsating alert lights to augment its already stupefying 'what the $*#*!? factor. There's even a battery back-up option in case of a power cut.

Talking of handy functions, the Sonic Bomb also features a volume control (phew!), snooze button and dimmer switch. Sadly it doesn't drop a comedy anvil on your bonce for good measure but you can't have everything.

We've seen a lot of tooth-looseningly loud alarm clocks in our time but this vibrating baby takes the biscuit. In fact it takes the biscuit, yells in its ear with a nuclear megaphone and violently shakes it to mere crumbs. If the Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock fails to get you out of bed, we can only suggest you arrange for a grand piano to be dropped from the ceiling every morning. WE SAID, IF THE…oh, forget it.

visitor avatar This alarm will wake the dead. Which is great considering I have 80% hearing loss and sleep with my hearing-aids out :D.
Owen, Bridgend - 25th February 2011
visitor avatar True. The Sonic Bomb scares you out of bed each morning very effectively! However, be aware. I woke up yesterday, checked the Sonic Bomb and was pleased to see I still had 15 mins left in bed before getting up for work. Then shortly after this I received a phone call from work asking where I was. The Sonic Bomb decided to work on 'go slow' and for every hour, the clock had only ticked on 40mins or so. So as I checked the clock at 7. 30am, it was in fact closer to 10am. Just a warning, the Sonic Bomb is easy going maaan.

visitor avatar This alarm clock has to be the loudest alarm clock I have ever owned, and over the years I have tried them all. It does what it claims and more. Well worth the money and if it doesn't get you out of bed, get someone to call the undertakers!
Ron Hughes, North Wales - 17th September 2010
visitor avatar My boyfriend has this alarm clock, and I just thought it was the coolest thing in the world! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, so he plugged it into our bed to get us both up the next morning - but it scared the life out of me! So it woke me up nice and quick, and I had to wake him up nice and quick going "What's happening?!" in my dazed and confused half-asleep state. Now I'm used to it, it's fine, and it's a fantastic way to wake up. I hate noisy alarms, I wish I had a nice quiet alarm to wake me up gently, but this is also quite an effective way to wake you up in the morning. It doesn't wake him up immediately (quite how, I do not know. He is a deep sleeper but I didn't reckon he'd be able to sleep through that!) so it's debatable whether it works on very deep sleepers or not. But like I said, that's just the vibrations - with the beeping as well I'm sure it'd work wonders!

visitor avatar I have to say that this is the best alarm that I have EVER seen. It is so loud my neighbours have been at my door from it waking them up. I warn, if you live in an upstairs flat do not leave the vibrator on the floor!! This alarm will wake anyone up...even the people it's not supposed to.
Evelyn McAllister, Ayrshire - 7th April 2010
visitor avatar I got one of these a couple of years ago for my 5am morning shifts. This is by far the most effective contraption ever created to wake you up. The sound alone, as loud as it is, isn't the most effective part, it's the bed shaker. This thing is like having 100 bees on coffee under your pillow, it really is powerful. Being woken up by this alarm clock is something like this... 1) The combination of loud sound and thousands of of tiny kicks to the head each second make you open your eyes! 2) The blinding flashing lights on the front burn away any sleepy feeling, and make you feel like there's a real emergency. The only downside I can say to this is it has a snooze button that is way too easy to reach, and after you press it a few times, it gives up totally.
Adam Powell, Portsmouth - 4th April 2010
visitor avatar I got this as a gift and since I've slept through fire alarm drills before, I wasn't expecting much. After almost having a heart attack the first night, it is safe to say this thing is LOUD! Loud doesn't mean plane taking off next to you loud, this is planet exploding next to you loud! The vibrating attachment is handy and does the job very well. First couple of nights my flatmates jumped out of their beds because the alarm was so loud! I turned down the volume but still got shaken out of bed! There is also pitch control - the lower pitch is in fact more annoying than the high pitch but whatever wakes you is good! The lights aren't all that but I guess it adds to the whole 'what the ****' feeling! All in all, an incredible alarm and this will definitely get you out of bed. No bulls**t, no matter how heavy you sleep this thing will wake you up!

visitor avatar Gah!!! I don't know which one to get: the flying thing, this one or the one that climbs?? i need a lot of alarms to wake me up for school and I need something that would not be too loud and that makes sure I get out of bed!!!
Shameer, Milton Keynes - 5th January 2009
Firebox says: Get them all just don't be late for school!
visitor avatar The clock is great, I was sceptical about the vibration etc but its great quality the vibration is vicious, the sound isnt irritating either. If it hadn't been for the posted video I think I would have passed it up and got the flying one for cheaper. All in all a great buy! Brilliant service and awesome delivery, you guys never disappoint! Cant praise you enough!
Martin, North Wales - 21st December 2007
visitor avatar This product is better than I expected, . I received the product yesterday, set the alarm last night and when it went off this morning it scared the hell out of me. The vibrator is what woke me, more than the alarm itself! I have had many problems getting up in the past, mainly due to the hours I do, and had to rely on 5!!! Alarm clocks!! Now I have this, I will not even be setting any more than this tonight. The back-up battery is a great feature as I am safe in the knowledge that when the power goes out, I will still be up for work. Will recommend this to any body that is a heavy sleeper as you will never be late again if you buy this alarm clock, I know I wont be.
