Easy on the eye, and on the pocket!
Oooh... lights!
Simply plonk the ultra-stylish Wattson receiver in any room and it displays a running total of the energy you're currently using, in either watts or pounds sterling. Turn off a device - TV, microwave, dishwasher - and watch in shame, awe, wonder and relief as the counter goes down. It's a real eye-opener. We've been sitting in the dark ever since we hooked ours up.

This is so weird. It's sitting in front of the TV and you can tell what people are doing. Generally it's around 250-500 watts but if someone turns the kettle on it shoots up to 3500w and the oven another few thousand on top of that. Never again will I boil the kettle twice or preheat the oven for too long. Brilliant gadget and big eye opener.Daniel, Manchester - Jul '09
Why are these things not built into new houses? It's brilliant! It's certainly made me think about wasting electricity and I've already changed my ways around the house. Wish is was wall mountable though...David, Cheltenham - Jan '08
Hey firebox! Is there a version that shows energy consumption in euros per year as opposed to sterling?Gerry, Longford, Ireland - Apr '10
Got this for my fiance, after she was transfixed by the TV programme where they powered a house from people on bikes!
She loves it and I have to say I'm really impressed with it as well. Stylish, functional and the different settings are cool!
The one thing that I think could be improved is the battery life. There is a built in rechargeable battery, but it only seems to last about 12hours maximum - which I think is a little odd considering it's supposed to be energy efficient - especially when you have to keep it plugged in all the time!!!
Otherwise a great bit of kit. .Howard Burnett, Weston Super Mare - Jan '10
Wow, honestly didn't think it could be THAT simple and THAT easy. Very impressed. I am now compulsively turning everything off and singing "how low can we go, how low can we go!".Laura, Essex - Dec '09
Sounds like a cool piece of kit, but im not entirely sure this would work in southern spain near Gibraltar. Could we confirm this, firebox?Daniel, Guadacorte, Spain - Aug '09
A great little gadget, can see when and where all my power wastage is. Time for a load of energy efficient bulbs.
The only thing (and not sure if it's this unit or all units), is that when you have the unit with the power button facing you (apparently the front), the numbers are text on the top is backwards, so you have to position the unit with the USB lead sticking out the front? Is it just me?Paul, Peterborough - Apr '09
Well, what an eye opener! Thos lovely halogen lights in the living room add an instant 25% to my energy consumption!
Fantastic piece of kit, which is actually quite small, rechargeable, and can be placed just about anywhere. I can now walk around the house switching things on and off, and can instantly see the difference in energy consumption! Will also show you an estimated annual cost based on the current consumpton.
Fantastic.Vince, Bluntisham - Oct '07
