Geyser Tube Shoots upto 30ft! Conducting crackpot experiments with everyday items is one of life's great pleasures. When you're ten. If you're still carrying out half-baked 'research' with helium balloons, baking soda and old chemistry sets past the age of fifteen, you really should take a long hard look at yourself. And once you've done that you should buy the spectacularly infantile Geyser Tube.

Geyser Tube

Pull the pin and run

As any wannabe egghead will tell you, idiotic thrill-seeking knows no age limit, especially when the thrill in question involves 30ft soda volcanoes. The Geyser Tube has been created to maximise the effect of the old mints-in-fizzy-pop routine; you know, the one where your sweeties react violently when plopped in a bottle of somethingade.

Simply load the mints in this screw-on transparent tube, lock it on your plastic pop bottle (any fizzy drink will do but diet stuff works best) and pull the pin. Oh yes, and run for it. Because the moment the sweets hit the liquid, a powerful soda geyser erupts from the top with enough pressure to reach 30ft - yes, 30ft! And thanks to this ingenious little gizmo you'll get a perfect launch every time without getting drenched.

Geyser Tube

If you're wondering what all this mints-in-pop hullabaloo is about, you're obviously new to the interweb. Videos of idiots (and we mean that in the nicest possible way) performing this scientific feat sans Geyser Tube have been circulating amongst awe-struck idiots across the globe for some time.

Geyser Tube
We really can't stress how entertaining watching a ferocious fountain of pop blasting skywards is. And with the help of the Geyser Tube you'll be amazed at the height your geysers achieve. In fact, here at the Firebox lab this innocent looking plastic tube has resulted in a marked drop in productivity. But we haven't got time to discuss that now; we're off to the car park to set off a ten-bottle cola Krakatoa. Whoosh!

I did have a good bottle of diet coke that it would have worked really well with, but i tipped it over on the first go :(. The second time, i was using mints that were too big, and they got stuck. But then it was third time lucky, and i shook the tube the mints fell in and hey presto, you've got yourself a cola geyser! and sorry i was gonna edit it and make it all fancy but windows movie maker didnt support the file type that my camera used so i had to use the raw video

visitor avatar I haven't bought this yet, but I have a question: I've watched some videos and seen that it eventually falls to the side, so if you were stood in the right place would you be able to drink it?

Firebox says: We wouldn't advise that, Karis.
visitor avatar I ordered one of these last night, can't wait! It goes really high. I want to test the difference in height between Diet Coke And Coke Zero. These are brilliant!

visitor avatar Brill item for use in the garden! Shame it accidentally blew up in my Mum's kitchen on first attempt! Gonna try and combine six or so next time with some help from copper piping. Six bottles into one spout! Look out 100ft!

visitor avatar Well! This is good! I just used to put a whole packet of Mentos in the top but this is much better but I think its not as fun as dropping in a packet into a bottle of diet cola. SOOOOO ORIGINAL AND FUN.

visitor avatar I had a volcano making task to do at school, so how to explode it? GEYSER TUBE! Rap up the coke bottle in a picture of a volcano, bish bash bosh and your volcano is done! Then I exploded it and it went off the camera it was so high. Everyone was impressed and I got some house points for it as well. Great buy, even better buy when you have to make a volcano explode!

visitor avatar Wow! A great buy, at first I thought it would just be a little spurt of coke.... Boy was I wrong! I bought about 5 cokes and 5 Mentos packets. I LOVE IT, A MUST BUY!!! ps. I said to my mate "look down the tube it might be blocked". He looked down I pulled the pin HA! Lets just say he wasn't thirsty afterwards.

visitor avatar It is amazing. Everything is about a reaction called nucleation. The mints have hundreds of tiny pits on them. When dropped in the coke the pits (also called nucleation sides) let all the carbondioxide change into bubbles the pressure goes up and the coke and carbon dioxide shoot up. Oh and it does not have to be coke try some other soft drinks but coke is the best!

visitor avatar I will tell you what not to do with this: take it into your local KFC, buy a family bucket, get a free coke put the geyser in. Load it, pull the cord, aim it at the cashier. He gets covered, he also gets the manager and you get a lifetime ban and the dude stole my geyser so I just got another and got banned from a different 1 :).
