Steve Spangler's Geyser Tube

Shoots upto 30ft! |
Conducting crackpot experiments with everyday items is one of life's great pleasures. When you're ten. If you're still carrying out half-baked 'research' with helium balloons, baking soda and old chemistry sets past the age of fifteen, you really should take a long hard look at yourself. And once you've done that you should buy the spectacularly infantile Steve Spangler's Geyser Tube.
Pull the pin and run
As any wannabe egghead will tell you, idiotic thrill-seeking knows no age limit, especially when the thrill in question involves 30 foot soda volcanoes. The Steve Spangler's Geyser Tube has been created to maximize the effect of the old mints-in-soda-pop routine; you know, the one where your sweeties react violently when plopped in a bottle of cola.
Simply load the minty chews into this screw-on transparent tube, lock it on your plastic pop bottle (any carbonated drink will do but diet stuff works best) and pull the pin. Oh yes, and run for it. Because the moment the mints hit the liquid, a powerful soda geyser erupts from the top with enough pressure to reach 30ft - yes, 30ft! And thanks to this ingenious little gizmo you'll get a perfect launch every time without getting drenched.

Geyser Tube |
If you're wondering what all this mints-in-pop hullabaloo is about, you're obviously new to the interweb. Videos of idiots (and we mean that in the nicest possible way) performing this scientific feat sans Geyser Tube have been circulating amongst awe-struck fools across the globe for some time.
We really can't stress how entertaining watching a ferocious fountain of pop blasting skywards is. And with the help of the Steve Spangler's Geyser Tube you'll be amazed at the height your geysers achieve. In fact, here at the Firebox lab this innocent looking plastic tube has resulted in a marked drop in productivity. But we haven't got time to discuss that now; we're off to the parking lot to set off a ten-bottle cola Krakatoa. Whoosh!

Geyser laugh
Have heard people talk about this but seeing is believing. A great laugh at a party after a few drinks.

It is amazing. Everything is about a reaction called nucleation. The mints have hundreds of tiny pits on them. When dropped in the coke the pits (also called nucleation sides) let all the carbondioxide change into bubbles the pressure goes up and the coke and carbon dioxide shoot up. Oh and it does not have to be coke try some other soft drinks but coke is the best!

This isn't really a review, it's just to say that those proper Mentos are hard to find but Extra mints work just as well.

This devise is SO simple yet so effective. Has caused a lot of mayhem, best place to do it is high up at an angle so it goes length, and height is very fun and very chaotic :P.

I will tell you what not to do with this: take it into your local KFC, buy a family bucket, get a free coke put the geyser in. Load it, pull the cord, aim it at the cashier. He gets covered, he also gets the manager and you get a lifetime ban and the dude stole my geyser so I just got another and got banned from a different 1 :).

I bought the geyser tube and tried it with tesco value cola and mint imperials. Works really well and saves alot of money! It great fun and you still get an amazing height!

I've found this works equally well with just 1 mint and the 500ml bottles if you don't fancy clearing up a 2ltr bottle - but as my sister said... "LOL!"
Great value for £5 - can you start selling the Mentos, too, Firebox? Would be very handy for refills!

I think the geyser tube is really cool. I got my mate to stand near it , I pulled the pin and he got covered in cola. Now he wont talk to me. Thanks firebox for loads of great products.

I can't figure out how to set up a chain with these things. Any tips? Other than that, great product.
