Overboard Dry Tube Bag

20 litre bag

Getting your belongings wet when you're hanging out on the beach, chilling by the pool or circumnavigating the globe by yacht is an occupational hazard. Soggy tenners, short-circuited gadgetry, drenched clothing, soaked sandwiches; that clear wobbly stuff we call water gets everywhere, doesn't it?

Overboard Dry Tube Bag

30 litre bag

So how do you keep your powder dry when you're messing about on, or near, the water? No, you don't bung everything in a knotted plastic bag and hope for the best. You pack your gear into an Overboard Dry Tube Bag or Backpack.

Overboard Dry Tube Bag

Fold Seal System™
1) Roll neck tightly 4 times
2) Attach buckles to seal

These revolutionary receptacles have been created to keep contents 100% dry, so they're perfect for beach bums, campers, watersport lovers and festival fans. Constructed from nylon-coated tarpaulin and sealed tight via an ingenious Fold Seal System™, Overboards are durable, wipe-clean and easy to store when not in use. Available in various sizes you're sure to find an Overboard that fits the bill. There's even a rugged backpack with loads of compartments and an internal zip pocket.

Overboard Dry Tube Bag
With their yellow or red colouring, Overboards look like the kind of thing the Hoff might have slung over his shoulder back in the Baywatch days. Okay, you're unlikely to bump into Pamela Anderson on Clacton beach but at least you can relax, safe in the knowledge your Overboard is keeping your knick-knacks dry. (Yes, we realise the backpack is available in black but that ruins our tenuous Baywatch angle).

Overboard Dry Tube Bag

12 litre dry tube bag

Speaking of keeping things dry, thanks to electronically-welded seams these incredible bags even float if dropped in water. Ideal if you decide to abandon ship or capsize when white-water rafting. Well, you never know.

As well as its sturdy handle, the heavy-duty Overboard features a shoulder strap for additional Baywatch-ability. In fact if this bag doesn't become the container of choice for sporty water-lovers, happy campers and style-savvy beach bums, we'll eat our shorts, shades, buckets and spades! All together now, 'I'll be there…'

Ben, UK - 16th June 2011

visitor avatar What colours do your backpacks come in? Is it just the one size? Is this ideal for a teens' backpack used for school?
Cynthia, London - 7th June 2011
Firebox says: 12 litre dry tube and 20 litre dry tube is Yellow, the 30 litre dry tube is Burnt Orange and the Backpack is black which would make a great school bag!
visitor avatar I've used mine a lot and it is perfect to keep Snorkel, swimming caps in while I am just swimming casually. I am still worried about putting food in. Will it stay completely dry?
Owen, Cornwall - 15th May 2011
Firebox says: As long as it's all sealed up correctly it sure will Owen.
visitor avatar Got mine at Christmas after seeing on the firebox website along with my Bento Box. Absolutely brilliant bag. Keeps everything dry inside. Will be buying one of the bigger ones (I got a 12L one) when I go on holiday in May.
Jimmy, West Midlands - 6th February 2011
visitor avatar The bags used to be good, but the quality as dropped. I bought one in 2007 which lasted 3 years. Just bought another one and its falling apart after 29 days.
Dan Makin, Essex - 19th November 2010
Firebox says: It seems that you may have received a faulty one. If you send us an e-mail to info@firebox.com we can look into this for you.
visitor avatar I have one of the backpacks, it is a good size for commuting by bicycle, and the chest strap makes it more comfortable. I also use it for skiing and keeps everything lovely and dry always. Brilliant!
Claire Brown, Blandford Forum - 26th October 2010
visitor avatar How much does the 30 litre bag weigh?
George Sanderson, Taunton - 30th May 2010
Firebox says: Approximately 750grams.
visitor avatar Hello firebox, I do lots of scuba diving while on holiday and I was just wondering if the folding means that storage space is lost? Also would there be space to put in two beach towels and a few bottles of water?
Dean, ESSEX - 12th May 2010
Firebox says: The capacity of the bag in litres is calculated taking the folding into account so no space is lost and the 20L bag and up will fit two towels ans some water.
