Catapult Desktop Warfare Kit

Desktop Trebuchet

Ballista

Those ancient types sure knew a thing or two about nasty weaponry. Battering rams, flails, gigantic battle axes; even today the thought of facing off with one of these deadly bits of hardware is enough to make you wince. But for real ouch-that-hurts flinging power, history tells us that the mighty Trebuchet and Ballista were in a class of their own.

Desktop Trebuchet

Trebuchet

So thank goodness these awesome projectile-chuckers are making a comeback in the form of our delightfully vindictive Desktop Warfare Kits. As you may have surmised, these build-em-yourself wooden weapons are not quite as devastating as their full-sized counterparts, but they're considerably more amusing as they can be used to fling soggy bits of squished-up tissue and other office detritus at annoying colleagues. Also, each sleek masterpiece looks totally innocuous sitting by your computer - perfect for sneak attacks.

Best of all you get to assemble your weapon of mass distraction, which makes scoring a direct hit even more satisfying. Consisting of various pre-cut, pre-drilled wooden components, slings, strings and other quality things, Desktop Warfare Kits are beautifully engineered scale models of genuine weapons used by ancient thugs in times gone by. Not that you'll be worrying about historical accuracy when you're preparing to unleash hell (well a few bits of chewing gum) on an unsuspecting workmate.

Desktop Warfare

Desktop Trebuchet

If you build it, they will run

Although they are blasts from the past, Desktop Warfare Kits are infinitely more effective than flipping gum with a ruler or boinging rubber bands at the boss. And in the infantile but never-ending intra-office arms race, effective weaponry is everything. So what are you waiting for? At our signal, hit Buy. Thou knoweth it maketh sense!

"If you clash with a colleague, why not get medieval on the pernickety, brown-nosing little weasel by launching projectiles in their general direction from this desktop trebuchet"

My mum got all three of these sets for my birthday and I have only praise for these. They are the most intertaining toy I have recived in a long time and you get a pang of sheer delight as you hit you target of jenga blocks from 10 yards away. Fantastic value for money and a great little gift !! Firebox rules ! (I intend to make a video soon !).

I bought both of these kits to keep me occupied during the bank holiday weekend, and they certainly succeeded. Firstly the Ballista, this kit is of the slot together variety and so will go together in about 30 mins or so. Stringing the thing took a while though and a third hand would have been useful. The first test firing was a bit of a damp squib but with a bit of tweaking I had the supplied ammo soaring across the garden at invading gnomes. The Trebuchet is a glue together and so takes a bit of drying time, I found that you could put together lots of the sections simultaneously and then wait for them to dry so it's worth reading ahead in the instructions. I found that some of the plans that were supplied were a little out on the measurements so I would suggest dry fitting where possible so that you can make adjustments before the final gluing. And so it was into action, a couple of miss fires and then the now usual adjusting time later I was out in the garden eyeing the gnomes again. The Trebuchet instead cleared the fence and tried to repel the neighbours. Smashing kits.

This is one of the most amusing products available, it is quite easy to build, and once finished will require some time to dry. Unfortunately, I found that the plasticine supplied was not heavy enough to fire pieces across a room, but the problem was solved with a bag of pennies. The best projectile I have used is rolled up tinfoil, it is light but will stay in a ball.

I have now bought both of these kits and they are both really good fun.

The catapult is great. I needed it for a physics project (trying to make coursework more interesting), and it is perfect. The range is great for indoor work, and it is easily adjustable.

Brilliant, I got just now and I it is drying as we speak.
