Gorillapod

New SLR Version for SLR cameras and camcorders

Just when you thought the world of photography couldn't throw up any more incredible innovations, along comes a tripod that makes conventional three-legged supports seem as practical as telescopic turnips.

The Gorillapod might sound like some kind of simian seedling, and it looks like one of those thingies from War of the Worlds, but it is actually an amazingly flexible little tripod that will support your camera virtually anywhere.

Gorillapod

Grip anywhere

Thanks to its ultra-bendy legs and flexible rotating joints, the sturdy Gorillapod is capable of stabilising a camera on all kinds of uneven surfaces - sand, rock, whatever. It will also cling to nigh on anything you'd care to think of - from branches and chair legs to railings, bannisters and bedknobs.

Gorillapod

Now also available in blue!

Pop a Gorillapod in your pocket and positioning your camera takes seconds not minutes. This go-anywhere companion is so versatile it can even be wangled into tight, awkward spaces. Take a Gorillapod on holiday and you'll wonder how you ever managed without one - impossible angles suddenly become possible and 'how did he do that?' shots are a doddle.

Gorillapod

Your three-legged friend

Each compact Gorillapod comes complete with a tiny adaptor that screws on to your camera. Simply leave it in place and you can slot your camera onto the Gorillipod in a flash. Convenient? It's like having a pocket-sized photographic assistant/contortionist at your beck and call 24/7.

Gorillapod Go-Go

NEW Gorillamobile
Attach it to your iPhone/GPS/MP4 player

Most pro photographers we've spoken to (yes, it just so happens we know loads) reckon the Gorillapod is a must-have accessory for anyone who wants to get the most out of their camera. And unless you're some kind of weirdo technophobe, that means you. So stop monkeying around and strike a pose, any pose, with a Gorillapod.

Press Reviews...

press review "Camera tripods are so 19th century. They're fine if you want a straight-on shot and you're shooting on level ground but, you have to admit, the tripod is somewhat limiting. Now, along comes the multi-jointed simian tripod, otherwise known as the Gorillapod, to take over where the tripod left off more than 100 years ago. With simian agility the Gorilla pod can wrap its three legs around anything to steady your camera, wherever you are. It can take on small tree branch, a chair leg (for pet photography), a stair bannister...it can even stand your camera straight on an uneven surface. The Gorillapod will be your photos' best friend, enabling the steadiest shots you could not match with your own shaky hands. You can roll up your Gorillapod and pop him in your pocket, or snuggle him into your camera case. (Don't forget your remote!)"

press review "Standing your camera on an uneven surface isn't always possible. However, the Gorillapod is a great solution"
TimeOut - May '09
press review "Bend it, twist it and fix it to any awkward surface. So much more flexible than a tripod and just as stable, the Gorillapod works with all cameras."
Saga - Feb '08
press review "Still the finest compact tripod...giving you a steady shot every time."

visitor avatar It's a fantastic little gadget, I can't fault it at all! I can't believe how strong it is either! I purchased the SLR version and it was worth the £39. 95 I paid. Now I can use the Gorillapod this weekend at one of the LANs (computer gaming events) I go to. Fantastic! Thanks Firebox!
Lee, Reading - Dec '08
Firebox says: Excellent, go 'ape' at your LAN events! (Sorry that was shocking!)

visitor avatar I got this little gadget last year while in Australia. It was nearly double the price than Firebox and I have now bought 3 more as presents for friends and family. It's such a great gadget! It's stable, surprisingly secure and will be the only tripod you will ever need again. It has a little clip on mechanism with lock so that you can quicly and easily attach and detach it from your camera. It easily grabs hold of railings, tree branches or any uneven surface so that you can now be in every picture! I've had mine for 6 months now and it has stood the test of time really well. I've used it in temperature ranges from +40 to -25 and its still as grippy and stable as ever. I've also used it with heavier SLR cameras and it still does a pretty good job of holding onto things sideways. I never take my camera anywhere without it!

visitor avatar Fantastic product. Bought it on Tuesday, arrived Wednesday morning. Brilliant service and a really handy little product. I'm going to be spending the weekend dreaming up lots of new locations to be able to take photos... might even risk hanging the camera over the balcony, I'm sure the Gorilla Pod can cope! Thanks Firebox!
Jason, Birmingham, UK - Aug '08
visitor avatar I am very impressed with the Gorillapod, such a simple idea but fantastic design makes this vital equipment for the budding photographer. I also realised that you can use it as a head-cam (if you have a small enough head that is) and it stays stable in any position! Well worth the dosh.
Callum Abbott, Herts - May '07
visitor avatar I loved this tripod, at first when I got it for my birthday, I thought maybe it's a bit gimmicky. But it truly is useful for those nature shots. Especially when your hands are as shaky as mine.
Matt, Stoke-on-Trent - Jun '10
visitor avatar Which Gorillapod would you recommend for the Kodak Playsport? The Compact, the Gorillamobile or the SLR Version?
Alex, London - Jun '10
Firebox says: The Koday Playsport has a tripod mount so either the compact Gorillapod, or Gorillamobile if preferred, would be more than adequate.

visitor avatar Hey firebox, I was wondering if the Mobile one will connect to an iPhone 3GS, and if so... how does it connect to it, because I swear I saw a similar product on the apple website specifically made the iPhone which was also made by Joby.
Micky, Aylesbury - Apr '10
Firebox says: Yes the Gorillamobiles will connect to an iPhone 3GS - thanks to the adhesive clips and suction cups attached. The Gorillamobile designed specifically for the iPhone does much the same job, only it comes with an iPod Touch case but we don't stock this product

visitor avatar Does this work with the Flip Mino Ultra HD? I really need a good tripod for that!
Sarah Hills, Coventry - Mar '10
Firebox says: Yes, all Flips have tripod mounts.

visitor avatar Hi guys, love the idea of gorilla pods, was just wondering if, and how the gorilla pod mobile would work with a sony-ericsson k800i, as it doesn't have a screw thread hole on the bottom to fix the tripod to....
Barnaby, Newbury - Jan '10
Firebox says: The Gorillamobiles come with adhesive clips and suction cups much like you'd have for an in car Sat Nav

visitor avatar Will it attach to a Flip Digital Video Camera? Is it the same attachment/hole/thread on the bottom?
Dan, Norwich - Dec '09
Firebox says: Yes, this will attach to a Flip. You'll find it available to purchase as an accessory on the Flip product page.
