visitor avatar Today I took my girlfriend on the deluxe makeover experience. Their extraordinarily poor organizational skills showed through. After having her hair done we waited for over an hour back in the lobby for someone to become free to do her makeup. Not only did we wait with other annoyed customers, we saw people who arrived at 1pm an hour later than us go and have their hair and makeup done before us. After another 30 - 45 minutes she was called to have her makeup done. In the mean time I listened to an exchange between an unimpressed customer who had been waiting hours to review her pictures and one of the staff. As soon as we arrived, I asked very seriously when she would be going in as they had already wasted hours of our day. To our surprise a space opened up within 5 minutes. Whether this was due to be our slot, or if complaints get you preferential treatment. My girlfriend went and had her photos taken while I sat in the lounge area... again. I could have watched the photos being taken but I was simply too annoyed that what should have been a tremendous gift had became such a monumental disappointment. Normally over the moon with firebox purchases, avoid this one like the plague.

visitor avatar OK, lets be fair - you get what you pay for in life. For what I paid, my wife got a new hair-do and make-up, she was delighted with it; and for the money, how can you complain? But (and in this case, its a big but), the organisation is bad at the London location - it took 5-6 hours to do the hair, make up and photos (90% of which was sitting around being plied with alcohol), I then joined my wife for another hour wait whilst we waited for the photos to be prepared. And then starts the hard sell - now I cant blame the London location for this I suppose, but come on, what we have paid for is one thing, but then to be told that we can buy all the photos for £4000??? A little haggling and we could get it for £2000?? OK, so no one has to buy, but the hard sell includes all the fast talking, slight of hand and the over-emotional deleting of photos ("are you sure you don't like that. ?? its lovely. . Ok, so its gone forever now". . Click...) If you stick to your guns, you get what you paid for, if you haggle you can get a little more, but it really put a downer on the day. My wife was overjoyed with the photos, hated the waiting, but left feeling quite drained and upset because of the hard sell. If you are used to such things, then its OK, but if you are giving this as a gift, you kind of want that to be the end of it... don't you? A good day, spoilt by the sales and organisation. Still, at the end of it all, the photos were superb.
