Indoor Skydiving
Planes? Who needs 'em?
This totally unique experience allows to you experience the sheer exhilaration of skydiving in a specially constructed wind tunnel, the likes of which are usually used to test the aerodynamics of F1 racing cars! After all the necessary training you will step into the airflow and taste the thrill of freefall in a totally safe and controlled environment, and what's more, it's suitable for almost anyone from age 5 so even the kids can have a go.
Agenda
You should arrive 30 minutes before your start time. You will have a fun briefing and will receive all necessary instruction. You will learn and practice freefall and body flying techniques. You will get kitted up in flight suit, specialist headgear, goggles, earplugs, knee and elbow pads, before entering the tunnel with your instructor for the first of two one minute 'flights'. You will also receive a souvenir DVD recording of your experience.

Please Note:
- On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid for ten months.
- This voucher is valid for flights on selected Monday - Saturday dates subject to availability. Flights must be taken before 4pm or after 9pm.
- You must bring your voucher and your email booking confirmation from airkix with you on the day of your flights.
- Included is a free DVD recording of your skydive to keep as a souvenir.
- Upon reciept of your voucher you are then free to contact the venue to book a time for your 'indoor skydive'.
- This voucher entitles one person to two flights of one minute each.
- The second flight must be taken at the same time and on the same day as the first flight.
- Maximum weight 18 stone. Minimum age 4 years.
- For under 18s a parent or guardian must sign a waiver. This waiver can be signed on the day, or is available online in advance.
- This experience is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant or has ever had a dislocated shoulder.
- Check with your doctor first if you have a history of neck/back/heart problems.
- You must not be under the influence of alcohol or non-prescription drugs. All necessary equipment is provided.
- You should wear casual clothes, ideally a t-shirt without a collar, and trainers.
- Please note that it is not possible to extend this voucher after it has expired.
- *Airkix Manchester location is due to open in January 2010 (specific date tbc), so voucher redemptions will not be facilitated before end 2009. Airkix reserve the right to change the date of opening for the Manchester location and cannot be held responsible

Firebox says: Hi Bob, you get 2 flights of approximately 1 minutes each, and the whole experience, including safety training and getting kitted up with equipment can last upto an hour. I hope this helps!

Went to the Airkix in Manchester a couple of days ago. It was truly amazing!!! I've never actual been skydiving so I'll admit I can't compare, but still something I'd reccommend to anyone!!!Gemma, Southport - 22nd April 2010

This is a really fun experience. Especially for people who are scared of heights and are never going to experience the real thing. Personally, I prefer the real thing- (amazing) but the wife and kids had a blast and always watch the dvd back. Great stuff.JK, Lowestoft - 15th April 2008
I have been on this experience and I am going again in a month! Despite the fact I am a wheelchair user, this experience was more than possible, it was the most fun I'd had in a long time. You are not 'floating' it is just like real skydiving (and I should know) with the wind rushing at you at 120mph.
