Sphereing is a new extreme sport where people are rolled down steep hills inside 12' inflatable balls. You and your chosen victim are strapped facing each other in the harnesses inside the ball, before tearing off down a hill at speeds of up to 30mph. The general reaction is to laugh hysterically as you descend the hill, rolling and bouncing! And don't worry, with a safety harness, and 3-foot of air between you and the ground, you're entirely safe and are free to enjoy the unique sensation of defying gravity in a controlled environment.

Agenda
On arrival at the site you will strapped into the Sphere for your ride. Hang on tight and expect to feel dizzy when you reach the bottom. The two of you will share the Sphere and will have one roll down the hill.

visitor avatar Bought this as a 40th birthday gift and was really impressed with the presentation of it when it arrived.
Kieran Ierston, Liverpool - Sep '08
visitor avatar Question: Do you have anywhere in Devon or close to?
Tom, Devon - Feb '10
Firebox says: I'm afraid the closest to Devon would be Porth in Newquay. You could make a day of it and also head for the beach.

visitor avatar This is again actually more of a question but what is the location of the oxford site and does the parent/guardian have to be there on the day or can their consent be written.
Liam, Portsmouth - Jan '10
Firebox says: Any child over 12 can sphere at our UK locations but height restrictions apply (please see info above). However, if you are under 18 a parent or guardian must be present. The Oxford location is Bourton On the water in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

visitor avatar This isn't a review - but I felt that this would be helpful to purchasers! Is it safe for people who have weak joints or maybe old back injuries etc? i. E. Nothing critical. The videos seem to show it as smooth and slow - but are there any places where there are bumpy parts etc?
Ushwin Pai, London - Jan '10
Firebox says: Please read the medical advice above. We would advise consulting a doctor before undertaking this activity if you have any significant old injuries.

visitor avatar This Isn't A Review Its A Question. Is The Price For 2 People Or Is It £53. 50 Each ? Thank you.
Mollyy, London - Jan '10
Firebox says: £53.50 is the total cost for 2 people the Sphere. Hope this helps!

visitor avatar Do you do aqua sphering too? Can you choose on the day? x.
Danielle D, Sheffield - Dec '09
Firebox says: I'm afraid we don't. However if we did, I can't imagine you could choose on the day. I think it would need to be prearranged.

visitor avatar My son who is twelve would love this as a christmas present if an adult was with him and gave consent could he do it with his friend.
Eileen Lewsley, Glasgow - Dec '09
Firebox says: Of course! There is no age restriction - they would both just need to be over 1.3metres tall.

visitor avatar Is there anywhere in northern ireland that I could use this?? Also where abouts in manchester is it held?! Let me asap because I want to get this for my boyfriend!!
Kate, Northern Ireland - Nov '09
Firebox says: Sphereing is not currently available in Northern Ireland but the Manchester location is Heaton House Farm, SK11 0RD. Hope this helps!

visitor avatar My other half is 6ft 5 inches can he still do it?
Jennifer, Manchester - Nov '09
Firebox says: Maximum height is 2.20m, which is 7ft 2in. I think you'll be fine!

visitor avatar Is there a weight limit for sphering? Thankyou. :)
Janee, Ramsbottom - Oct '09
Firebox says: Yes there is, it's 18st for men or 14st for women.
