Top top batteries - ingenious design. Just plug in and charge pretty much anywhere. However, unfortunately they do not fit into the front usb ports on the xbox 360 as the ports on the front go inside the case a little and the lids of the batteries prevent you from pushing them all the way in...otherwise great item!
