We love everything about bananas: their colour, their taste, their texture, their versatility. We even love the word: B-a-n-a-n-a. Isn't it great? If you say it over and over really fast it starts to sound like 'nanaba'. You just tried it, didn't you? You silly 'nana!
Where were we? Oh yes, bananas. Well the thing is, although we adore them in all their yellow, curvy glory, we hate bruised ones. Indeed, pulling one out of your bag and discovering it's been knocked about is enough to drive you...er, bananas. Yes, nature did attempt a solution by encasing the fruit in a rather funky outer skin but even that can't protect it completely.

Thankfully help is at hand in the rather magnificent shape of the Banana Guard. Designed to accommodate all but the most enormous of bananas, this ingenious plastic case will protect your beloved banana in transit and prevent it from getting bashed about by the other occupants of your bag.
Perfect for packed lunches, picnics and games of banana boomerang, the durable Banana Guard features three clasps to lock your 'nana inside and small holes in the casing to keep the air circulating, thus averting over-ripening.
"But why can't I just shove my banana in a plastic lunch box?" we hear you ask. Well, for starters, bananas are quite big and curved, so you can't really squish your sarnies in as well (unless you make silly little curved ones). Plus, bananas have a tendency to make your ham sandwiches taste all bananary - and vice versa.
It's for all of the above reasons that we believe the Banana Guard is destined for greatness. Indeed, we reckon it will become an indispensable accessory for executive banana-lovers everywhere. So hurry up and hit buy - you'd be bananas not to!

What a great product! I had a £5 gift voucher for Firebox and instantly knew what I wanted. I was so fed up with my bananas getting crushed as I cycle to work every morning. The banana guard seemed like the answer to those silent cries for help across the country, if not the world. It seemed too good to be true. I ordered it anyway. It came within 2 days of ordering, so when I got home from work there it was...the orange box of delights waiting to be opened. Like a child at Christmas I tore open the box, scaring the dog with my manic ferocity! I couldn't wait to get my hands on the product. There it was.... Bright yellow, rather bigger than I had anticipated, and extremely naughty looking. I instantly ran to the kitchen wielding my new toy and foraged for a banana.... Bingo! A small, rather curved and black-spotted banana looked pitifully up at me, begging to be protected against the fresh, crisp and hard apples in the bowl. I duly obliged. The banana fitted in the case like a charm - almost enough room for two of my fun-sized friends. The banana was delighted. He was finally safe from the apples. The banana and I went for a lovely cycle into work the following morning, and he arrived unharmed. He is now lying in the fridge waiting for me to take him to lunch.... If only he knew!Paul Johnson, Ashford, Kent - Aug '09
Banana guard is absolutely amazing. My boyfriend rolled his eyes at me when I bought it. Less than a month later I'm back, buying one for him as he's been stealing mine for the last 2 weeks!Hannah, Leeds - Nov '07
What a great idea! People though I was crazy when I brought it to college but I was happy eating my pristine banana while they ate their nasty, brusied soggy old ones! =]
P. S. Also very good for not making your whole bag and everything in it reek of bananas!AA, London - Dec '09
So simple yet so effective! got this as a bit of a comedy gift for my friend... Yes, the look on her parent's face as I handed over the oddly-shaped package was indeed worth it... But now everybody wants one! I'm buying a whole bunch (bud, dum, dum) for xmas pressies. A must for any health nut!Jo, Durham - Nov '08
The Bananagaurd is an engenius piece of work. Just moments before I saw the bananagaurd I was shouting at my mum for constantly giving me bananas that where getting squished in my bag. I would recomend the bananagaurd to anyone. A+ item.

Advantages:
1. Prevents everything else from smelling like bananas.
2. Stops your banana getting squished and brown.
3. Will fit any shape/size of banana.
Disadvantages:
1. As a woman pretty much everyone has asked me where the batteries go!
2. People giggle if they see it out on my desk.Linz Glennon, Walsall, West Midlands - May '07
My friend actually made one of these for her Graphics course at school! We got a good chuckle out of it.Charlotte, Leicestershire - Apr '10
My brother is a football referee so needs to eat on the go, I bought him this and wrapped it in Raunchy Wrapping Paper for his 18th birthday. Laughs all around!Sami, Bradford - May '09
