Micro Mosquito
Do you know the name of the fastest pheasant plucker in the world? No, neither do we. But we can tell you the name of the world's smallest, lightest, quietest, fully-functional RC helicopter: it's called the Micro Mosquito and it has just hovered into Firebox.

Micro Mosquito
Speaking of ornithology, the Micro Mosquito is currently ruffling feathers throughout the world of RC aviation, as it is one of the most incredible flying machines ever to take to the skies. Weighing in at a mere 15g, this bug-like indoor 'copter is so small it can take off and land in the palm of your hand. Amazing!

Micro Mosquito
Thanks to its counter-rotating blades the Mosquito is astoundingly manoeuvrable. Once you get the hang of its twin-toggle, digital proportional transmitter you'll be buzzing around like a pro pilot. Up, down, hover, forwards, backwards, left, right - you name it. We just landed ours on the boss's head having taken off from the water cooler. Try doing that in a proper chopper. (Don't, you might decapitate someone).

Micro Mosquito

Launch pad charger

Ready to fly in the smallest of spaces straight out of the box, the Mosquito is powered via a charger that doubles up as a launch pad. A 45 minute juice-up will give you a full seven minutes or more of flying time - enough to hover around the ceiling, fly by the coffee table and buzz past the telly. This innovative triumph of micro-engineering even features a pair of green glowing 'eyes' - perfect for putting the willies up the cat when night falls.

Believe us, playing with the Mosquito is seriously addictive. We guarantee you'll be unable to resist a quick flight whenever you're lounging on the sofa or twiddling your thumbs at work. If you still haven't got the bug, hit the Buy button. Because flying the Micro Mosquito is a total buzz!

visitor avatar This is my first remote control helicopter and I was very surprised at how easy it is to fly. I am 14 and I highly recommend it to any teen or older.

visitor avatar I got it on xmas day and I loved it! I had 2 PicoZ but they both broke. This one is stronger and is better to fly and is worth the extra money. I have 2 PicoZ, 1 plane & 1 Flitec Dragonfly but this is the best of them all!!! It looks weak but it's very strong. It's good but I would buy the PicoZ first, then this to get the hang of flying helicopters.

visitor avatar The first Micro Mosquito I unboxed had a faulty motor, but Firebox agreed to replace it without any fuss and quickly dispatched a new one to me within a couple of days. I'm very impressed with what a sophisticated and delicate bit of kit the Micro Mosquito is for £50. After adjusting the trim, it takes off and hovers with perfectly. It isn't particularly fast although in retrospect this isn't a bad thing, as it's easy to crash if you're not paying attention. Touching anything with the rotor blades almost certainly spells doom for stability and the best tack is often to let it drop to the floor rather than risk damage trying to recover. After an hour or so's practise however, you'll be flying it around and landing it on people's hands (or heads) like a professional. Highly recommended!

visitor avatar Great little chopper - loads of fun flying it around my lounge. The eerie glow from the eyes is awesome. Quite delicate though - I've got to buy some more blades for it already, after just a week! :( Hopefully I'll crash less in the future.

visitor avatar Just taken delivery of Micro Mossie Helicopter, thank you for fantastic turnaround, FIRST CLASS. As for the product, well anybody who considers themselves a helicopter buff and does not own this little piece of aviation fun, they have not lived. To the despair of everyone I shall enjoy hours of flying pleasure - Noel Edmonds eat your heart out!!

visitor avatar I ordered the Micro Mosquito yesterday, and it was delivered this morning. Brilliant service, brilliant product. A must buy for aviation fans. Sofa's become buildings, tables become landing pads, ceilings become hazards and your living room becomes a whole new air-space. Very glad I bought this brilliant piece of technology, thank you Firebox!
Chris, Dover, UK - 26th April 2007
visitor avatar I got one of these as a late birthday pressie and it is, without doubt, the coolest indoor heli EVER! It even out-performs the awesome Pico-Z (although it's not as robust). I was hovering straight out the box and completing stable room circuits (left, right, figure-8) within 1 hour of flying time (or an afternoon including charges). If you're after an easy to fly indoor heli get this one. The controls are responsive and the trim switch on the controller is an excellent addition. This thing is guaranteed to make you smile!!!

visitor avatar Amazing little machine bought to replace a non-working Xmas pressie. Sort out the trim per the instructions as this will make it easier to fly, and put a small pea-sized piece of blue-tack on the nose to give it a little forward momentum. If you want to quickly fly circuits in a room, fly it at about head-height and momentarily back-off the throttle by about 30-40% to get it to turn right by 90 degrees without needing to use the right-hand control; the momentary decrease in power has the effect of turning it through a right-angle. Cool little machine!

visitor avatar I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas and he loved it! It is really easy to fly and hours of fun can be had. Well..... when he would let me have ago that is! Only bad point is its a bit of a mission to get the packaging open...all worth it it the end!
Sophie, London, Uk - 3rd January 2007
visitor avatar Got this product for Christmas and found it easier to use than I expected out of the box. Unfortunately since the first flight I have not been able to get the helicopter to accept a recharge.
