I know that the product adjusts to 78rpm, but is it a preset 78, or is it adjustable as many 78s should be played at various speeds between, say 70 and 90rpm?
Also, just to confirm, assuming the correct connecting audio cable, will records play live through an iPod speaker dock, or DVD home cinema system etc without an additional amplifier?Oliver Martin, Basingstoke - 3rd December 2011
Firebox says: Hi. The software will convert it to 78rpm, but there are other bits of software out there that you can change the rpm to anything you want to fine tune it. A quick google search will come up with a few.
You should be able to use the Turntable with most externally powered docks using a phono to 3.5mm jack plug!
Silly question can I connect this turntable to my stereo with USB input and play vinyl normally?Saire May, Tadley, UK - 25th May 2011
Firebox says: No such thing Saire! You absolutely can, just connect via the AUX inputs/outputs.
I'm hopeless at using iTunes. Once you have converted the Vinyl to MP3 is it easy to add to your iTunes library?Peter Venkman, Manchester - 29th March 2011
Firebox says: You can use the 'add to library' option in iTunes and just select all the mp3 files from your USB Turntable folder.
Hi, I recently bought the Ipod USB Turntable for my husbands birthday. He is very happy with it and is transferring his LP's direct to his ipod without the computer, but you cant hear the album as it is playing. Is it possible buy USB plug in speakers so you can hear the records at the same time?.Jukie, St Albans - 26th February 2011
Firebox says: Certainly Jukie, we have a variety available from Firebox.com, but you should be able to plug in speakers to your PC and listen through those.
Is the quality good for just playing vinyls??
and can you play vinyls without plugging it in?? :)
Thanks.Gawyn, West Buckland - 9th February 2011
Firebox says: You can play the vinyls as long as you are connected to either your computer or a stereo as the unit does not have speakers.
I purchased a ION Turntable to play the old 78's. The arm cuts off the table before the record ends. 45's & 33's are OK.
This is a fault with many of the reproduced players. Any suggestions.Jim, Aberdeen - 8th February 2011
Firebox says: I think this is a question for the ION tech team, you can reach them by phone on 01252 896080.
Got this for my xmas pressie from her indoors, after some serious downloading for my useless vista (should have been called NCWA 'not compatible with anything')finally recorded some music... HOORAY! Something to keep in mind is if you have albums that blend tracks you'll need to separate each track otherwise the software joins it all together and you have to start again. Is there supposed to be a part for 45's cos mine is missing erm? what should I do now?Vince, Cornwall - 1st January 2011
Firebox says: The bit should be in the polystyrene in the box, but if you are sure it isn't in there then e-mail us at info@firebox.com and we'll see what we can do for you. Cheers for the tip about the blended tracks as well.
Hi guys well interested in buying one of these to record tracks on to my computer but ... can I just listen to the LP as normal through my computer speakers? Or do you have to record to listen every time - if you know what I mean does the software include i.e 'freeplay' (non record mode)?Ian Simmonds, Stevenage - 3rd December 2010
Firebox says: You can indeed, the software has to be running, but it doesn't have to be recording. Alternatively, you can plug it directly into an amp without needing the computer.
I'm not a guy, not tech trained, loads of vinyl... this device is easy as anything and I'm so pleased I bought it.Vee, Scottish Borders - 15th November 2010
I notice the IPod dock is not I phone compatiable. Can I get my vinyl onto my lap top I Tunes and then downlaod as usual to my I Phone?Caryn, Derby - 30th September 2010
Firebox says: Yep!
