Super Sonic Gold Plug 'n' Play

Hand-held hedgehog

Back in the early nineties if you'd told a gaming geek that one day it would be possible to shoehorn Sonic's Mega Drive classics, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic Spinball, and Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine into a self-contained joypad that simply plugs into the telly, they would've said that was about as likely as Ross & Rachel getting togther in "Friends" and that thing called the "Internet" taking off.

Super Sonic Gold Plug 'n' Play

Sonic the Hedgehog

Originally launched by Sega in 1989 UK for £190 (and that only included 1 game!), the mighty Megadrive was the first the first console that could genuinely mix it up with the coin-op behemoths down the arcade, and is fondly remembered by gaming aficionados as the platform that brought Sonic the Hedgehog to the masses.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

The Mega Drive could display up to 64 colours on screen from a 512 colour pallette and featured a separate 8-bit processor dedicated to sound. All of this computing power translated into games with larger and more detailed characters, more complex graphics, faster action and a home games console that could finally compete with the coin-operated machines in the arcades.

Super Sonic Gold Plug 'n' Play

Sonic Spinball

Our new Super Sonic Gold games unit crams four classic Megadrive titles into one self-contained Plug 'n' Play joypad. This fabulous little box of gaming nostalgia plugs directly into your TV via handy AV cables, and it's so compact you can take it anywhere there's a TV on hand. Which is just about anywhere, let's face it. No swapping games cartridges over, no fuss.

Super Sonic Gold Plug 'n' Play

Dr. Robotnik's
Mean Bean Machine

Although they're knocking on a bit, these console classics are more than mere blip blop, 'yeah, I remember that one' five-minute wonders. They're visually impressive adventures with genuine depth and infuriatingly addictive gameplay. Which is why we confidently predict the Super Sonic Gold Plug 'n' Play will rocket into our best-sellers list faster than you can say 'Dr Robotnik's got his mechanized mitts on me Chaos Emeralds!'
