With this in mind our most recent mission has been to seek out a radical new clock; a clock brimming with wow factor that tells the time in a whole new way. And yes, you guessed it, we found one.
The über-chic TIX Clock is unlike any timepiece we've ever seen as it displays the time via a series of colourful, seemingly random
LEDs. If you're looking at the pictures and scratching your head, don't. Once you grasp the basic concept you'll wonder why you
never sussed it immediately, because the value of each digit is represented by the number of illuminated squares in each panel. So
the clock in the picture reads 12:14. Easy, eh?The great thing about the TIX is that any given time can be displayed in thousands of different ways. You can even set it to update every second so you end up with a constantly evolving sequence of time-telling patterns. It certainly is an abstract concept. But seeing as time is a nonspatial continuum (yes, we looked that up) the whole notion seems entirely appropriate, especially in the hi-tech Noughties.
As well as its revolutionary time-telling technique, the TIX is a gorgeously-engineered piece of contemporary art that can be
mounted horizontally or vertically. Finished in smart brushed metal or matte black with three dimming levels, this sleek gizmo is
so ahead of its time it wouldn't look out of place in Buck Rogers' boudoir, so imagine how many heads it will turn in your home or
office. You must know what time it is by now. Yes, it's time to buy!| Bookmark and share: | |||||

"Dispensing with the tradition of hands or numbers, the TIX clock would look more at home on the control deck of a space ship rather than something mroe mundane as a desk."Stuff - Mar '06

Amazing device. I've had it for about a year now, back when it came only in silver. I have virtually no complaints about it, other than the previous complaint about the ugly power jack coming from the back of it. I think I'm going to take it down and put it back on my desk.
A little trick:
Before plugging in the system, hold down both buttons on the back while you plug it in. It will do something, and you are given an option to pick between 1, 2, and 3
1 means that it will change every second,
2 (default upon startup) means every 3 seconds, while 3 means... something else. I'm not quite sure. May have been 15, 30, I do not recall.
Very attractive. There's no clock I would rather have.Sam, Las Vegas - Oct '07
This is the 1st time I've ever seen the Tix Clock & I'm well amazed & for sure now want one. It's well cool!Lindo, Chesterfield - Nov '07
Got the black version for Christmas off my girlfriend, what a wicked present. It still baffles people who see it for the first time. I agree with the other reviewers about the clock itself though, the build quality could be better for £50 and it would be a pain to be not wall mountable as the power jack sticks out of the back. Desk or shelf mounted it looks even better I think. 1 other problem I have discovered, and maybe this is because I have it above my bed, is that even on the lowest brightness setting it is still bright enough to stop me from sleeping, so I have to turn it round to face the wall at night. I still love it though and it still remains one of the coolest things anyone has ever bought for me.Andy, Southport - Dec '07
Upon receiving my new toy, I opened it with eager excitment. And the reviews are right. It is quite stunning and fun to watch, I've spent the last 2 hours just trying to figure out the time :P. But, seriously This device is perfect for baffling friends, while being so obvious what it is its laughable. One thing I will say is reiterate some of the points made by other reviewers, These are that, the construction does indeed seem a bit flimsy and for the price i'd of expected better construction. My other gripe is the claim that it is wall mountable. Allthough technically you can wall mount it, it's not pretty due to the fact that the power jack does not sit flat with the back of the clock, meaning the clock will not sit flat with the wall. Apart from these 2 flaws. I love it.Alex, Ye Olde Bristle - Oct '06
Who'd of thought that watching time pass could be so entertaining! A few guys, a few beers and wait for someone to ask the time, then point out the flashy thing above the telly is a clock and watch as alcohol and confusion join forces to turn them into gibbering wrecks.
PS. for this much fun, who cares if it's got plastic bits.Nev Mellors, Nottingham - Aug '06
Fantastic product, looks great, functions well. The only drawback is that although it claims to be wall mountable, I don't see how - the power plug sticks out the back! Was the US adapter it was designed for different or is this a design flaw?James, London - May '06
It's an excellent novel clock, looks great on the wall and perplexes most people at first glance with a "what is it?". One thing, i've lost my instructions - can it be changed to display a 24hr time or just 12hr?Sam, London - Apr '06
As a science teacher I like to have unusual things in my lab. When I saw this I had to have one. The questions and guesses from my students about what it does before they work it out are very funny. From "does it measure noise?" to "is it relating to where people are sitting?". It took a couple of my lower classes about 10 minutes to work it out, and some of my A-level students about an hour! It's brilliant and I would highly recommend one to anyone, I have had many qusetions about where I got it from (of course I have pointed them in your direction! - commission? LOL). Oh, I also have it vertical not horizontal which adds to the mystery!Kirk Wootton, Reading - Apr '06
What a giggle, I never tire of watching the dopy look that forms on the face of each new person as I explain that YES, it really is a clock and show them how it registers the time. "Oh yeah" they eventually say, as it slowly dawns on them just how simple it is to read, (when you know how... mwahahaa - evil laugh !!).Vince Maguire, London - Mar '06
This is such a cool clock looks awsume in any room just had to have it, it has confused people for ages looking at it until you explain, who cares about the price its ingenious a must have.Alex L Owe, Derbyshire - Mar '06

Though you might like to see my TIX in action. Very, VERY cool product. Most people have no clue what it is and are somewhat perplexed when you tell them the time with no visible clock anywhere... Fulfils my "on-the-bridge-of-the-Enterprise" wish to some degree!
