Voodoo Knife Block

Safety sheaths attached

When our product scouts started raving on about the Voodoo Knife Block we half expected them to turn up with some kind of Live and Let Die-style Haitian gizmo, covered in skulls, fangs and chicken feathers.

Thankfully there's nothing supernatural about the Voodoo Knife Block, even though it is one of the most amusingly bizarre kitchen accessories we've ever seen. Designed by Raffaele Iannello the Voodoo Knife Block is a slice above other knife blocks and it's wonderfully unusual in terms of originality and design (no more sharp wordplay - promise).

Crafted in rich red, black or chrome coloured ABS plastic, the highly stylish Voodoo has five strategically-positioned slots in which to place five quality knives, which are also included.

Apart from its striking appearance the sturdy Voodoo is a brilliant kitchen companion, especially if you're used to using one crummy knife to chop, slice, fillet and dice. The five assorted knives included with the Voodoo are super sleek and guaranteed to bring out your inner-Ramsay. You'll soon be chopping ultra-thin onions just for the hell of it complete with theatrical effing and blinding.

As you can tell, the Voodoo Knife Block is no chip off the old (knife) block. It's a radical new designer knife rack that no serious (or not so serious) chef should be without. So what are you waiting for? Chop chop!

I purchased the silver Voodoo knife block for my daughter as she thought it was very quirkey, unfortunately the silver paint has peeled away making the block look very shabby and it was not cheap to purchase this does not affect the sharpness of the knifes but cosmeticly it looks terrible and I would have thought that for this price the paint work should be of a higher standard.

Firebox says: Sorry to hear that! Drop us a line with your order number and a few details of the problems you've face to info@firebox.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
I bought the black version and everyone loves it. It takes up quite a bit of space but it looks so awesome every time you stab a knife back into it. It's magnetic so the knives stay firmly in place, and are protected at the back by plastic covers. They do seem to go blunt fairly quickly but just buy a sharpener. Very happy.

I got given one of these as a gift (which I asked for) and they bought it off firebox (which I recommended they did). Overall on not happy with the quality of the item. For the money and it being a'designer' kitchen accessory all it is is basically two half's of plastic stuck together and the trouble is that it looks like it. There is no feel of quality of or weight to it. For the price I would at least have expected a solid peice of plastic without a join running around the edge. As for the graphite finish it is more like a dark grey paint job, again I would have expected a silver fleck tp the finish. Overall im afraid if I had bought this myself it would have gone straight back.

If you get in touch with us at info@firebox.com, you'd always be able to return a product if you're disappointed, as long as it's within 30 days, but we understand that with this being a gift, you may not wish to do that.
Bought mine from Firebox in 2010 [with the Ozitech sharpener] and not only is it is still going strong, but I am still giggling every time I use it. Takes pride of place on the kitchen counter, elicits gasps of horror/delights from friends & family; and after all this time, still gets me fired up & happy about food prep. Don't forget to sharpen your knives every fortnight, folks!
Mouse, Dorking - 11th October 2011
Firebox says: Sound advice Mouse! Glad you like the Voodoo Knife Block!
I love the block but one of my knives has developed a tiny crack and now the handle has filled up with water. Can I get a replacement knife ?
