The Ex Voodoo Knife Block
|
|
|
When our product scouts started raving on about The Ex Voodoo Knife Block we half expected them to turn up with some kind of Live and Let Die-style Haitian gizmo, covered in skulls, fangs and chicken feathers.
Thankfully there's nothing supernatural about The Ex Voodoo Knife Block, even though it is one of the most amusingly bizarre kitchen accessories we've ever seen. Designed by European designer Raffaele Iannello, The Ex Voodoo Knife Block is a slice above other knife blocks and it's wonderfully unusual in terms of originality and design (no more "sharp" wordplay - we promise!).
Crafted in rich red, black or chrome painted ABS plastic, the highly stylish Voodoo has five strategically-positioned slots in which to place five high quality kitchen knives, which are also included.
Apart from its striking appearance The Ex is a brilliant and strudy kitchen companion, especially if you're used to using one crummy knife to chop, slice, fillet and dice EVERYTHING. The five assorted knives included with the Voodoo are super sleek and guaranteed to bring out your inner Martha.

As you can tell, The Ex Voodoo Knife Display is no chip off the old (knife) block. It's a radical new designer knife rack that no serious (or not so serious) chef should be without. So what are you waiting for? Chop chop!

This is the mutts nuts. One of my flatmates finds it hysterical, and the other is slightly disturbed now.
On a practical note, the knives are ace and the stand is stable and well designed - only shame is that the chrome is 30 quid more than the black or red.
Thanks firebox!

Bought two for Christmas, great present and very fast delivery to Ireland. Son (27) wondered if knives were sharp (they are) by running finger along the blade! Chrome would be lovely for next present, but at £30 more expensive - no way! Thanks again. Fascinating talking point - people very curious about it!

Got my Knife block as a birthday pressie and I just love it. Always a good talking point in the kitchen. It's much bigger than I expected and the quality of the knives are superb but be warned they are VERY SHARP !!! Yet another winner from Firebox !!

I got mine yesterday and I've been waiting soooo long for the chrome one as I totally refuse to have the tacky looking red and black one. Eerruughhh.... Anyway the chrome is by far the best with a nice retro-come-contemporary look. Thanks yet again Firebox crew.

Awesome knife set, but you cant take the guards off. I've tried everything and my last resort is slicing them off with a hacksaw. If anybody works out how to remove them please post here. UNIT IS ALSO MUCH TALLER THAN I EXPECTED.
Firebox says: The guards are there for a reason, to protect the knives! SensiHamster, Cambridge - Feb '07 |
If you have children around this is probably a bad idea but if you take the plastic knife covers off the back of the man (easily done) the knives actually look like there going through him and it adds to the effect. It looks fantastic!
