Speedboats are great, aren't they? Because as well as flitting across the water with the greatest of ease they conjure up glamorous images of Monaco, Miami Vice and David Hasselhoff's hairy chest (or is that just us?)
Sadly, in order to own one of these sweet machines you need to be either A) incredibly wealthy, B) a winner on Deal Or No Deal or C) Popeye's arch enemy. Which is a shame because there's nothing quite like captaining your very own speedboat across the beautiful briny sea. Except of course captaining your very own remote controlled speedboat across the local pond. And that's where the Stealth Speedboat comes in.
This large, ominous-looking vessel is frighteningly fast and makes other battery-powered RC boats look about as threatening as a soggy fishcake. Bearing more than a passing resemblance to the Batboat, the twin-motor Stealth has got speed written all over it (not literally, that would look silly) and its satisfyingly sexy aerodynamic lines help it achieve speeds of over 18 miles per hour.
You control the surprisingly maneuverable Stealth via a sturdy twin-toggle transmitter, while power comes courtesy of a rechargeable battery. A four-hour charge gives you up to 30 minutes to tear up the local waterways - we know that doesn't sound like a long time but the raw power of the Stealth more than compensates. Besides, any longer and those boat freaks who spend all day tinkering with their gas-powered vessels for 30 seconds of playtime might go crying home to mommy.

Despite its menacing appearance and awesome performance, the Stealth is extremely landlubber-friendly since its propellers automatically cut-off when removed from the water. In fact, the only thing you have to worry about with the Stealth is being spotted by anyone who believed you when you told them you owned a real speedboat!

"Lakes and summer usually mean you flailing around attempting to master the oars. Forget that and impress your lady with this radio-controlled speedboat, which motors along at up to 19mph. And it looks like the Batboat!"Nuts - Aug '05

Great speed boat. Use a 3000 or 3800 battery pack and the speed is awesome. You also get over 25 minutes of fast speed before runs out, can tell easily and will get to the bank on one engine. Overall, brilliant boat for the price. The turning circle is as good as higher priced boats due to the wings. Great fun.Shaun Montgomery, Hull E. Yorkshire - Oct '09
My friend and I work as lifeguards at a local leisure centre and bought one of these between us. With the help of a couple of floatation aids as make shift ramp, we were able to make it jump from the main pool to the kids pool and back. Obviously after hours of course!!Glenn, Belfast - Feb '07
Does anyone no if it is possible to change the radio equipment in it? or does the remote have changeable crystls in it?Craig Thompson, North East - Sep '09
Firebox says: We wouldn't recommend it Craig.
Where can I get a spare rechargeable battery pack from ?Kamil, Aldershot - Aug '09
Firebox says: Send us an email (info@firebox.com) and we'll have a look in to it for you.
Looking at this boat, as I a live near quite large bodies of water, is there an indication when the battery will run out, as I don't fancy retriving it if it decides to cut out in the middle of a pond or lake.Kamil, Aldershot - Aug '09
Firebox says: The battery should last around 30 minutes
Excellent boat, very quick, can you run 2 at the same time, or are they all on the same frequency? can you buy anything to change the frequency?K S, Aylesbury - Jul '09
Firebox says: They're all on the same frequency, sorry!
This is the best rc boat ever!!!!Andrew, Scotland - Jul '09
Great machiene love tearing up and the pond one problem though NO REVERSE GEAR!!! due to over hanging trees my boat keeps getting stuck therfore many hours spent on recovery missions on a very steep slope.Henry Squirrell, Suffolk - Jul '09
Bought one of these for my boyfriend last week. Watching him tear apart the box and hurriedly put the stickers on like it was his sixth birthday (it wasn't) - very cute. Standing by the side of a freezing cold lake in the pouring rain for an hour while he used bits of several trees to retrieve it from some reeds he'd driven it into at full pelt - not so endearing. It is ACE though.Rachel, Cheshire - May '09
This is a brilliant boat and it does the job. For the money you are going to spend it's fantastic choice. My little boy loves it ... but not more than daddy does. Battery life is short so it's better to buy the spare one.
Good value for money.Lukasz, Dartford - Apr '09
