So Firebox, what is this RSS stuff?
RSS stands for "RDF Site Summary", but you can think of it as "Really Simple Syndication". Originally developed by Netscape, RSS is an XML-based file format that allows Publishers to syndicate web content streams out across the internet for 3rd parties (that's you!) to incorporate into their own websites, or browse through an RSS reader.
Whoah! That sounds complicated?
OK, we were trying to show you that we knew what we were talking about. RSS basically lets you keep up with what's going on with your favourite websites by having access to just the very latest content at your fingertips.
Sounds cool. What will I get from the Firebox RSS feed?
Think of our RSS Feed as a kind of "trailer" for the latest new products to launch at Firebox. You'll never miss a new product again!
How do I use it?
You can access the RSS feed a number of different ways:
- Readers
You could use web-based RSS readers:
What's New at Firebox!

The Firebox Top 20
|
...or a desktop version (like RSS Reader) to import our feed along with RSS feeds from all your favourite websites.
You can keep up to date with everything without having to visit all the individual websites, and if anything looks interesting, you can click on an individual article and get the whole story.
- Website Owners
If you run your own website, you could even use our content to make an interesting news feature on your website. Because the feed automatically updates, your website would be kept fresh and interesting for your visitors. If you are a member of the Firebox Affiliate program, you will get paid a commission for any products sold as a result, and it will also make sure that you are always promoting the very latest products.
Great! Where do I find the Firebox RSS feeds?
The following RSS feeds are currently available:
"What's New" contains details of the latest 10 products to launch at Firebox, and the "Top 20" is just that - both in the yummy "RSS 0.92" standard file format.
Have fun!
